All Not Hunky Dory with New iPhone Release

According to CNET News iPhone users will face many issues with the new 2.2 release. They explain that common problems users face are broken third-party applications, failure to connect to the internet, the appearance of the error message "SIM card not inserted", Google maps displaying kilometers instead of miles, problems deleting emails from certain accounts, and the App Store being very slow.

CNET goes on to explain some basic fixes for these issues. The most common issue is that third-party applications fail to work properly, particularly those that involve the use of CoreAudio. Users can try reinstalling the apps but in most cases the aplications will have to be updated by their developers. For the users that are having connectivity problems they can try switching from 3G to EDGE. The steps to fix the SIM card problem are to remove the SIM card, connect it to your computer and restoring. After iTunes reloads the iPhone software correctly the SIM card can be inserted back into the iPhone.

Additionally, CNET says that for the phones that are displaying kilometers instead of miles, the International Setting can be changed to USA. Users who have AOL accounts are reporting that they cannot delete email from their accounts. They can go into their advanced email settings and select "On My iPhone” Trash for a POP account, or “On the Server” for an IMAP account. Apple most like will have the App Store problem resolved shortly if not already.
